About us
John Morten Booksellers, trading as E. J. Morten Booksellers, has been run from a quintessential cobbled street in Didsbury Village, South Manchester, since 1959 with three successive generations taking over the business. The business incorporates both a new retail book shop and a historical second-hand & antiquarian book arm.
New Books
The Warburton-street book shop offers a wide selection of up-to-date new fiction and non-fiction books for sale. Book cases are stocked high and wide with leafy subject matter which includes modern best-sellers, travel, health and wellbeing, science, education, the arts and classic literature.
David, who has been a stellar employee at the independent bookshop for over 25 years, will be only too happy to assist in finding the book you are looking for. Our year-round dedicated collection of new signed first-edition books for sale is extremely popular and can help in sourcing that perfect gift. As well as books for adults there is also a dedicated chidren's room. This is home to a colourful selection of fun and educational books for little ones be it to help with maths homework, art projects, imaginative reading or the perfect bed-time story. Fun accessories such as bookmarks are also on sale.
